Third Age Plus Pioneers

Third Age Plus Pioneers was an Autumn Voices project, working with those aged over 90, which ran from autumn 2021 to summer 2022.

Autumn Voices recruited five project workers, artists with experience of working with older people, each of whom recruited partner organisations and participants for the activity sessions.

Jane Archer (author, Perthshire) worked with Birnam Arts Centre; Dunkeld & Birnam Archives; Ancaster House Care Home, Crieff.

Chiara Berardelli (singer-songwriter, Glasgow) worked with Belford Hospital, Fort William and several GP practices near Glasgow.

Miss Annabel Sings (cabaret artist, Edinburgh) worked with the Beacon Club, The Space, Edinburgh; Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; Murrayfield House Care Home.

Stuart Paterson (poet, Dumfries & Galloway) worked with Annan Day Centre, and individuals in Glasgow, Ayrshire and East Lothian.

Nicola Stead (photographer, Glasgow) worked with The No.1 Befriending Agency and Clarence Court Care Home.

All project workers undertook face-to-face work (rather than online). The links above showcase outcomes from the project: video and audio recordings, poems, prose and blog posts.

Autumn Voices is grateful to the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Ideas and Pioneers Fund for supporting this project.
